The 6-8 december 2019 will IFMSA-Sweden and IFMSA-North organize a joint event with the SLS KUF (Swedish Society of Medicine, Kandidat- and Medical Association), a masterclass in climate and health.
This masterclass participants will have the background knowledge of the topic Global Health & Climate change. After a brief introduction to global health, including human rights and sustainable development goals (Sustainable Development Goals), we will dive into specific topics. With these workshops we aim to address the direct and indirect climate effects on global health, while we present them in the broader context of international, economic, social, political and environmental perspectives.
Masterclassen will also cough the Swedish official launch event for The Lancet Commission on Health and Climate Change 2019, with Maria Nilsson, Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Global Health at the University of Umeå, which is one of the co-authors of the report.
Several experts in the field have been invited to bring you the latest updates – their names will be published closer to the event on Facebook. Masterclass will also bring the discussion to the next level through interactive workshops and considering mediation to create more concrete action plans, policyförslag etc. The main objective is to create a platform for you as young people interested in meeting, few tools, network and then give you the opportunity to act on global health and climate change
